Games

I have liked games for as long as I can remember, be it computer games, board games, card games and later roleplaying games.

Board games are for my a nice way to spend time with friends, rather than an intellectual challenge where other players are purely opponents. I therefore really enjoy the recent development of cooperative board games like Lord of the Rings, Shadows over Camelot and Pandemia. If you haven't tried these yet: I can recommend them. I designed Artificial Intelligences for a few games, and intend to expand this to more games in the future.

Roleplaying I do purely tabletop: no running through the woods in a monster suit. I prefer to be the storyteller, and one of my greatest efforts was to create an "alternate history" campaign based on Mage - the Ascension. As with other things, I enjoy games that have innovative concepts, like Mage or Amber in roleplaying, the auction element of Modern Art, the real-time element of Space Alert or the cooperation/betrayal element of Shadows over Camelot. But of course Scrabble is also fun at times.

If you are looking for a place with reviews and other board game information, BoardGameGeek is usually a good place to start. Some friends and me also wrote some reviews on Game Reviewer. Make sure to check this out. More links may follow in the future.
